Bookworms,
Autumn is quickly approaching, and all I can think about is grabbing a cup of hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows, of course, and sitting on my couch cozying up with a spooktacular cozy mystery. There is something about this time of year that make me gravitate towards cozy mysteries more and I thought it would be fun to share with you my top picks to get you into the spooky season!
- Murder at the Pumpkin Patch by London Lovett: London Lovett has always been an author I grab for this time of year and although all of her books are spectacular, Murder at the Pumpkin Patch is a great starter to get you into the spooky season because of four significant things, pumpkin patches, costume parties, a ghost named Edward! It undoubtedly will be a treat…or will it?
- No Parm, No Foul by Linda Reilly: This is the second book in the Grilled Cheese Mystery series and it is the perfect read for the season; I mean who doesn’t like grilled cheese? The main character Carley had recently opened up a grilled cheese shop and now that she has settled in, it is time to participate in a Halloween cooking competion. However, a local restaurant owner will be found dead, was Carly or did he lots of enemies?
- Fudge Bites by Nancy Coco: I haven’t read this series all the way through and tend to pick a book here and book there, but I can tell it is a great cozy series! When you dive into Fudge Bites you will find yourself emersed into the towns zombie walk charity event, but when Allie’s cat leads her to a dead body, the zombie walk turns into a murder mystery that must be solved!
- The Skeleton Haunts a House by Leigh Perry: The Family Skelton series by Leigh Perry is a great series, but book three is the perfect read to get you into a spooky mood! Sid is a living skeleton who will take a stroll through the haunted house and find a dead body! Will he be able to crack the case while hiding from the police, or will he get caught!?
This is a short list, but I hope you will find time to curl up on your couch and dive into one of these books because they will surely get you into the spooky season!
